The
Green Room
(Ages 3 to 5)
The Green Room is our
combined age Preschool Room here at Happy Time. We find that this is a huge
advantage because the younger children learn things very quickly from the older
children and the older children learn about responsibility and caring. When
necessary the ages do break up into small groups to do developmentally
appropriate activities. The teachers focus a lot on Kindergarten Readiness and
Social Skills. Recently in the spring the Happy Time Preschool Teachers hosted a
Preschool-Kindergarten Pot-luck to join forces with the Vinton-Shellsburg
Kindergarten Teachers to better understand what is expected of the preschoolers
entering Kindergarten. The Pot-luck was a huge success and a giant step forward
in better preparing our children for school. The gathering was so successful the
teachers are making this an annual event to keep the communication lines open
between Preschools and Kindergarten.

Green Lead Preschool Teacher

Sharyl has over 20
years of experience in childcare. She is currently our Lead Preschool teacher
and over see's both the 3's & 4's preschool program. Sharyl has taken many
courses and attended many conferences in the early childhood field. She also has
three children of her own and devotes her life to children! She is patient, loving and full of
energy!!! In her spare time she loves going to movies and doing activities
with her children. You can find Sharyl in the Green Room Monday - Friday
6:00am - 12:30pm.
 Barbara Rego,
Green Preschool Teacher

Barbara has been working in the childcare field for over 35 years and is
currently teaching Preschool to our 4 & 5 year olds. She has taken many
classes through Kirkwood in the early childhood field and has also attended a
Bev Bos Conference. Barb has 3 grown
children, 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and in her spare time she likes to
make candles, sew, quilt and attend house shows. She has been with Happy
Time for 4 years! You can find Barb in the Green Room
MWF 12:00pm-3:30pm / T&Th 8:30am-3:30pm.
 Laura
Follmann, Teacher Assistant
You can find Laura with the 3 & 4 year
olds, Monday - Friday 3:30pm - 5:00pm
Laura Cook, Blue Preschool Lead
Laura has a BA in Elementary Education including over 3 year experience in
the childcare field. Her favorite part of Happy Time is seeing the kids
having fun and learning new things! In her free time, Laura likes to spend
time at home with her two dogs and her husband Justin. Laura's hours as
Blue Preschool Lead are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 3:00pm and Wednesdays also
5:00pm - 6:00pm.
 Jeremy
Neuzil, Blue Preschool Teacher
Jeremy has his AA in Education from Kirkwood and is currently attending UNI
to continue his education. He also is in the Army Reserves and spent a
year in Baghdad, Iraq in 2003/2004. Jeremy is recently married and it is
his dream to become a teacher! You can find him working with Blue
Preschool Mondays 4:00pm-6:00pm, Tues/Thurs 9:00am-6:00pm.
Leiha
McNeal, Blue Preschool Teacher
Leiha is currently working toward her AA in Early Childhood Education and was
just accepted to participate in the TEACH Program through Happy Time.
Leiha has been with Happy Time for over a year and a half and has been
babysitting for many families for over 9 years. In her spare time, she
enjoys line dancing, playing cards, shopping and being with family and friends.
You can find Leiha working with Blue Preschool Mon/Wed: 8:00am-5:00pm,
T/Thurs 12:00pm-5:00pm/Fridays 9:00am-6:00pm.
